26 October 2017

The Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory has published four additional submissions today, bringing the total now available online to 92.

Submissions published today include those received from:

  • Bullywatch Publications and Consultancy
  • Designing Out Crime Research Centre, University of Technology Sydney
  • National Family Violence Prevention Legal Services Forum – October 2016
  • Northern Territory Council of Government School Organisations

The Commission has now published 92 submissions from 84 community groups, stakeholders, advocates, academics, government and non-government organisations with the consent of the authors.

“Submissions are one of the important ways the Commission collects information, the contribution of so many individuals and organisations is greatly valued.

“These submissions help the Commission understand the issues in child protection and youth detention in the Northern Territory and are of assistance as the Commission formulates recommendations.

“They are an incredibly valuable body of work and I would like to thank all those who took the time to make their views known to the Commission”, said Ms Windeyer.

The Commission will continue to make submissions publically available ahead of the delivery of the Final Report on 17 November 2017.
