Royal Commission into the Protection and
Detention of Children in the Northern Territory

Revised hearing schedule for Royal Commission

2 November 2016

The Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory has revised its hearing schedule for November and December, 2016.

Due to the complexities and sensitive nature of dealing with vulnerable children, the Commission will defer its November hearings that were scheduled for Darwin between 14th – 25th November.

The Commission will continue to hold public hearings in Darwin in December. The dates for these hearings are from 5th – 14th December, 2016 in the Darwin Supreme Court. Hearings in Alice Springs will be rescheduled to early next year.

The Commission is currently working on a revised hearing schedule for early next year. The Commission will advise on the timetable when it is finalised.
